Canteen

The canteen operates Monday – Friday for students and teachers. We are fortunate to have staff organised by our lovely Macgregor Primary School P&C. The canteen has a variety of healthy and homemade options available at both morning break and lunch that can be ordered online with Flexischools.

The canteen is not for profit and as such we try to keep the prices to a reasonable minimum, consistent with covering costs to enable the canteen to be open each weekday. Preschool students can place lunch orders on each alternate Wednesday only (This way it gives all preschool attendees a chance to order from the canteen)

Our Menu

Our menu follows The National Healthy School Canteen Guidelines to categorise foods and drinks according to their nutritional value. We aim to provide nutritious and appealing food at an affordable price.

Counter Sales: The canteen has a snack menu consisting of lite snacks like fruit, popcorn, pikelets a selection of frozen items and hot food all ranging between 20 cents up to $3.00. These are all cash sales during both breaks.

Ordering Food

The canteen encourages placing orders through the online ordering service Flexischools. Orders can be preordred until 9.30am on the day for recess and lunch. You can also order meals in advance.  Alternatively you can place an order with money at the canteen window until 9.30am each morning.

Easy, Online Registration

There is a parent order fee per online order.

Flexischools has a website or an App that you downloaded by both Android or Apple devices.

What if I have trouble with the menu on Flexischools?

How can my family discuss adding an item to the menu?

Please contact the Canteen Manager on canteen@macgregorpandc.org or drop into the canteen to discuss directly with the Canteen Manager.

We are having trouble with our lunch order, what do we do?

Best to call the canteen asap and discuss with the canteen staff on

6142 1628. There is always a solution to any problem.

My child is no longer able to have the lunch order that I have ordered?

Please call the canteen as soon as you know the lunch order is no longer required. In most cases if you call before 11am you can move the lunch order to the next day.

My child has food allergies – is there something they can eat safely?

The canteen has gluten, dairy and egg free products and while utmost care is taken to maintain food security there is no guarantees. We also have an allergy alert option to include in Flexischools.

How can I volunteer in the canteen?
Our canteen relies on the support and generosity of people, just like you, who volunteer to help provide this important service to Macgregor Primary School. Volunteer parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles are most welcome to help in the Canteen. Younger children are welcome as the canteen is a family friendly environment.

What do volunteers do in the canteen?

Volunteers assist and support the Canteen Manager to efficiently and professionally operate our school canteen.

This can include:

* Preparing and selling menu items as per the canteen menu.
* Preparation of pizzas, sandwiches and burgers.
* Toasting sandwiches.
* Packing lunch bags.
* Restocking fridges and freezers.
* Making up popcorn, veggie sticks and other snacks

* Vegetable prep for salad’s, sandwich prep and nugget boxes
* Washing, drying and putting away equipment
